Tupp vs Rize

Rize doesn't have an iPhone app. Tupp lives on your lock screen.

Rize is a well-regarded automatic time tracker — for Mac and Windows. If you're on iPhone, it isn't an option at all. Tupp is built mobile-first: lock screen, Dynamic Island, Apple Watch, home screen widgets.

The short version

This is the most clear-cut comparison on this list: Rize runs on Mac and Windows only, with no iPhone or iPad app. Its strength is automatic, timer-free tracking of what you do on a computer. Tupp is the opposite kind of tool — a mobile-first system you carry with you, for sessions, habits, and routines that happen away from a desk as often as at one. If your work is entirely desktop-bound, Rize's automatic tracking is worth a look. If any part of your day happens off a computer — the gym, reading, a walk, a habit you're building — Rize simply can't track it.

Why people switch

Actually usable on your phone

Rize has no iOS app at all — if your day isn't spent entirely at a desktop, it can't see any of it.

Built for more than desk work

Gym sessions, reading, walks, habits — Tupp tracks the parts of your day a desktop-only tool never sees.

Live on your lock screen

A running session shows on your lock screen, Dynamic Island, and Apple Watch — no need to check a desktop app.

Cheaper

Tupp PRO starts at $4.99/mo. Rize starts around $9.99–12.99/mo for a single device.

Tupp vs Rize — frequently asked.

Does Rize have any mobile app at all?

No — as of this writing, Rize is Mac and Windows only, with no iPhone, iPad, or Android app.

Does Tupp track automatically like Rize does?

No — Tupp is intentionally timer-based (one tap to start), not passive background tracking. That's a deliberate trade-off: automatic desktop tracking can't see anything that happens away from a computer, which is most of what Tupp is built to track.

Can I use both?

Some people do — Rize for automatic desktop analytics, Tupp for everything else (sessions on the go, habits, routines). They don't sync with each other.

Is Tupp only for iPhone?

Tupp is an iOS app with a full native Apple Watch app and a web dashboard at app.tupp.io for checking your data from any browser.
